Risk Assessment

As per the regulations in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, No. 85 of 1993, an occupational risk assessment should be performed when employees could be exposed to health hazards. These health hazards could result from the work environment, general work activities or processes.

What must be identified during a risk assessment?

When conducting an occupational risk assessment in the workplace, a systematic approach is used to identify health hazards.

The risk assessment is valid for two years if no process or structure changes are made within that period. If any changes take place, the risk assessment should be re-evaluated.

How we do it

We have a team of occupational hygiene professionals who are registered with the Southern African Institute for Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH), which is now affiliated to the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA).
